III. Catalog Course Description

This course introduces the basics of video production utilizing a personal camcorder and video editing equipment. Students study video technologies, basic equipment operation, basic lighting principles and audio recording fundamentals.

  • To develop the student’s ability to work as an effective and participating member of a team, demonstrating positive "people" skills.
  • To demonstrate that the student has learned the elements of digital production.

Understand and demonstrate operating video editing equipment. Understand and be able to use different shooting techniques. Understand different video formats. To develop the student’s ability to work independently and follow oral and written instructions. To develop the student’s ability to work as an effective and participating member of a team, demonstrating positive "people" skills. Understand and demonstrate the basic principles of lighting in video productions. Understand and demonstrate the basic principles of audio in video productions. Understand basic scriptwriting and storyboard.
