AUTB 152 Minor Collision Repair

This course provides basic theory on metal finishing and minor body repair. This includes straightening and prepping sheet metals, the proper use of plastic body filler, abrasives, sanding techniques, and air tools. Students will remove and install necessary trim and hardware to facilitate repair procedures.

This course provides basic theory on metal finishing and minor body repair. Students will remove and install necessary trim and hardware to facilitate repair procedures.

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Describe the hand tools used in nonstructural panel repair.
  • Identify the various power tools used when repairing or replacing nonstructural panels.
  • Explain why filler is used and describe the different types of fillers available.
  • Identify the different types of metal used on exterior panels.
  • Explain the potential problems of cross contamination when repairing aluminum.
