III. Catalog Course Description

This course is deigned around specific weight training techniques for Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Students will apply sports psychology techniques
  • Students will demonstrate appropriate safety practices
  • Students will improve/maintain muscle strength and endurance appropriate to Cross-Country

V. Topical Outline (Course Content)

Cross-Country specific agility/speed drills, total body strength training and Olympic weight lifting exercises. The course content is dependent upon the specific sports needs as determined by the strength and conditioning expert, head coach and athletic director. The daily workouts are designed to incorporate the most current strength and conditioning programs, to establish and employ rehabilitation for injured athletes along with a priority to prevent injury.
