This course is an application of the principles of nutrition in feeding domestic animals, evaluation and comparison feedstuffs with related computations and important current developments in the livestock feeding industry.

IV. Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, a student will be able to:

  • Identify feedstuffs suitable for animal consumption and their nutritive values
  • Describe how different feeds are grown and processed for feeding
  • Balance rations for a variety of livestock species
  • Select appropriate feedstuffs and develop a suitable ration for various species of domestic animals.
  • Describe the proper feeds for different life stages of major domesticated animals.
