BIO-317 Stream Ecology

This course examines the ecology of streams with an emphasis on the physical, chemical and biological organization of stream ecosystems. The course will also cover current theories in stream ecology as outlined in the primary literature. Students will learn laboratory and field methods for conducting stream research and will be expected to complete a field-based research project. Lectures and one 4-hour laboratory weekly. Some weekend field trips are required.
