PHI-390 China: Change & Continuity in Philosophy & Religion

A study of the status of philosophy and religion in contemporary China. This course will focus on the transformations of the classical religious and philosophical traditions of China-Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and folk religions-over the past two decades, and the emerging role of "foreign" traditions-Islam, Christianity and Western philosophy. Corequisite: HIS-390
