CRJ216 Counter Intelligence

Media articles often include depictions of captured spies, criminals, and faceless cyber-attacks. What process is used to identify and defend against these threats? Counterintelligence may be defined as information collected and analyzed, and activities undertaken to protect a nation (including its own intelligence related activities) against the actions of hostile intelligence services. Counterintelligence plays a key role in defending a country or organization from other nation states intelligence services and other nontraditional threats. While counterintelligence is broad in scope, in practice, the term refers to a narrower band of activities. In this course students will learn about counterintelligence as a phenomenon and critically examine the activities undertaken by counterintelligence organizations.
