SW4933 Supporting Areas of Software Engineering Doctoral Studies

A seminar designed to prepare Ph.D. students for the supporting areas of the Software Engineering written qualifying examination. Topics covered include: Computer science - mathematical fundamentals, algorithms and data structures, compilation technology, artificial intelligence, and security: management and economics - project planning and management, quality assurance, software economics, knowledge bases, decision support, and fundamentals for system modeling; computer systems - real-time systems, networks and distributed systems, hardware/software integration, interoperability of network based systems, computer graphics and interfaces and signal processing and embedded control systems. Intended for Software Engineering PhD students. Graded on Pass/Fail basis only.
