NU 556 Clinical Psychiatric Diagnosis and Management Across the Life Span III
This final course in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner curriculum focuses on complex management of psychiatric disorders and mental health concerns in individuals across the life span. It appraises the theoretical, role development, and skill foundation requisite for the psychiatric and mental health care of individuals and their support systems. Focus is on the application of evidence-informed concepts essential to the delivery of quality-driven advanced practice care. Role preparation of the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner is expanded with attention to the components of comprehensive assessment, clinical management and therapeutic monitoring, the coordination and management of mental health promotion and care. The clinical learning environment provides essential experiential opportunities for the development and refinement of core psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner competencies.
