CPS 5021 COMPUTER SCIENCE PRINCIPLES

This course introduces teachers to the foundational principles in Computer Science and prepares them to teach honors such as the Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles. Students will explore the seven big ideas of Computer Science: creativity, abstraction, data and information, algorithms, programming, the internet, and the global impacts of computing using a programming language. Effective instructional strategies for teaching Computer Science and broadening participation will be highlighted throughout the course.
