Minor Requirements

Complete 6 credits of upper-division (300- or 400-level) coursework in Mathematics:

Approved laboratory courses include BIO-201, BIO-202,  CHE-141, CHE-142, ENV-161, GEO-101, PHY-231, PHY-232, PHY-271, and PHY-272 .

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this minor, students will be able to:

1) Demonstrate foundational knowledge of mathematics and mathematical thinking, including logical reasoning, abstraction, generalization, and proof;

2) Use mathematical ideas to solve problems in applied contexts, using computers when appropriate; and

3) Recognize contemporary social and ethical issues related to mathematics.
